Vehicle Electrical and Electronics 1

The aim of this course is to provide the technician with the necessary knowledge to test and repair electrical circuits in modern vehicles. It also includes the use of equipment such as multi-meters and oscilloscopes.

• What is electricity?
  The action of electricity, unit of electricity, ohms law, watt electrical power, magnetism and electricity
• Tools and equipment
  Multi-meters, oscilloscopes, test leads and test lamps
• Type of circuit
  Earth return systems, series circuits, parallel circuit, resistance calculations
• Electrical and electronic components
  Relays, transistors, diodes, computer controlled systems
• Introduction to complex electronic systems
  Motion sensors for ABS/engine management, CAN & multiplex, electrical and electronic fault diagnosis
